Jose Mares added two as well as
Edgewood (Texas) defeated Como-Pickton (Como, Texas) 55-20 on Saturday.
The lead that the Bulldogs took on a
Carlos Bolton touchdown run with 10:00 left in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
Edgewood put up 55 points in the first quarter en route to the win. EHS scored on a touchdown run by Bolton, a
Jacob Sharff touchdown run, a touchdown run by Blazio, a kick return touchdown by Bolton, a touchdown pass by Sharff to
Jackson Tyner, a Blazio touchdown run, a touchdown run by Mares and a Mares touchdown run in the quarter.
Mares stood out for the Bulldogs in the win. The junior running back kicked six extra points.
With the win Edgewood extended its winning streak to three games.
Como-Pickton (0-7) will play a 2A-2 Region II District 8 game against Clarksville next week, while Edgewood (7-1) will take on Cooper also in a 2A-2 Region II District 8 game.
