Soccer Game Preview: Bellevue East vs. Burke

The Bellevue East Chieftains are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against the Burke Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Bellevue East and Bellevue West faced off in a cross-town battle on Saturday. Bellevue East lost 8-0 to Bellevue West. The defeat continues a trend for Bellevue East in their meetings with Bellevue West: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Burke unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Mount Michael Benedictine on Saturday, falling 5-0.

Bellevue East beat Burke by a goal in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bellevue East since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
