Baseball Recap: Mountain Ridge Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Mountain Ridge and Southern squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Mountain Ridge had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-1. The Miners just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Mountain Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Southern, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Mountain Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southern, they are taking a road trip to square off against Northern Garrett at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
