Soccer Game Preview: Benet Academy vs. York

The Benet Academy Redwings will head out to face off against the York Dukes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Benet Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Benet Academy's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Saint Viator by a score of 2-0. Give Benet Academy's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meghan Sarros and Ivana Vukas scored both of Benet Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, York fell victim to Barrington and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fillies/Broncos. York have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

York's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3-2. As for Benet Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-2-2.

Benet Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over York in their previous meeting back in March of 2017, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redwings since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
