Baseball Game Preview: Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars vs. McArthur Mustangs

The Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars will take on the McArthur Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

Pembroke Pines Charter fell victim to Cypress Bay and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Lightning by a score of 1-0. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McArthur). They blew past Hollywood Hills 24-13 on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Caleb Kronen looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, McArthur got a massive performance out of Israel LaFrance, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave LaFrance a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isnedit Fernandez, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

McArthur kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

McArthur's victory bumped their record up to 3-18. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11-1.

Pembroke Pines Charter took their win against McArthur in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 20-0 score. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
