Hanover Central has gone 8-2 against Lowell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Wildcats will square off against the Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. Hanover Central's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Lowell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Saturday just wasn't the day for Hanover Central's offense. They fell 5-0 to St. Laurence on Saturday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Hanover Central got a good showing from Ian Flores, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Flores has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
While Lowell didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Rensselaer Central on Thursday as they made off with a 21-1 win. The contest marked the Red Devils' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Mason Brooker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.
In other pitching news, Owen Thomas looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Lowell: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Lowell got a massive performance out of Zak Scharnke, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Scharnke has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Mikulich, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs.
Lowell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .574. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Lowell's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hanover Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
