Basketball Recap: Manzano Sets Scoring Season-High Against Gadsden

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Highland, Manzano was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Gadsden Panthers with a sharp 65-39 win. The Monarchs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Manzano's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryce Johnson, who posted ten points. What's more, Johnson posted three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brandon Martinez, who earned nine points.

Manzano now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Gadsden, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manzano will be home for the holidays to greet Albuquerque at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Monarchs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gadsden, they will welcome Silver at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
