Softball Recap: Montour Takes a Loss

Montour was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 14-7 to the West Allegheny Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 two weeks ago.

Shania Cope and Hailey Staub did some serious damage despite the final result: Cope went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Staub went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Danielle Terpack was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Montour's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10-1. As for West Allegheny, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4.

Looking ahead, Montour will face off against Upper St. Clair at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Allegheny, they will welcome Union at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
