Basketball Game Preview: Chief Leschi Warriors vs. Muckleshoot Tribal Kings

The Chief Leschi Warriors and the Muckleshoot Tribal Kings will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday without much rest having both just played. Chief Leschi has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with 11 straight defeats, while Muckleshoot Tribal will come in with three straight wins.

Chief Leschi is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell just short of Taholah by a score of 61-58 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since December 29, 2023.

Meanwhile, Muckleshoot Tribal didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Wellpinit on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 52-47 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Kings' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Redskins are ranked ninth).

Muckleshoot Tribal's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Chief Leschi, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Chief Leschi strolled past Muckleshoot Tribal when the teams last played back in January of 2016 by a score of 82-64. Will Chief Leschi repeat their success, or does Muckleshoot Tribal have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
