Volleyball Recap: McDonald County Comes Up Short

The McDonald County Mustangs came up short against the Providence Academy Patriots on Monday and fell 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-19, 21-25, 25-10.

Layla Wallain paced McDonald County's offense, picking up nine kills. Wallain got some help from Jamie Washam and her 24 assists. Finally, Brooklyn Erickson kept McDonald County's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

McDonald County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12-2. As for Providence Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

McDonald County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Aurora on the 30th. As for Providence Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Charleston on the 30th.
