Baseball Recap: Grosse Ile's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Mary Catholic Central, Grosse Ile was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They never let the Jefferson Bears get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. With that victory, the Red Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Grosse Ile let Joe Keenan and Sam Weise run wild. Keenan went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Weise went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Keenan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolton Bodner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

The win snapped Grosse Ile's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-9 record. As for Jefferson, they dropped their record down to 7-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Grosse Ile will head out to challenge Taylor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Jefferson, they will square off against Summerfield at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
