Basketball Recap: Lincoln Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lincoln put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Danville Vikings with a sharp 55-34 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Railsplitters also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Lincoln had a senior duo take command as Karson Komnick shot 75% from the field on his way to 23 points in addition to six boards and three steals and Brody Tungate went 7-for-13 en route to 19 points along with five assists and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Komnick has scored at least a third of the Railsplitters' points. Another player making a difference was Breon McKinnie, who posted six points.

Lincoln's record now sits at 3-0. As for Danville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Sacred Heart-Griffin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Danville, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rantoul at 7:00 p.m. on December 9.
