Basketball Recap: RJ Moore Jr. and Malachi Mccutcheon Secure Win for Corvian Community

With a playoff win on the line, Corvian Community rose to the challenge on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-53 win over the College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Corvian Community was led to victory by Malachi McCutcheon and RJ Moore Jr.. McCutcheon shot 54% from the field en route to 18 points and eight boards, while Moore Jr. dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Moore Jr. a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Andre Jackson Jr., who posted 12 points and three steals.

Corvian Community's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.2 points over those games. As for College Prep & Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 22-7.

Coming up, Corvian Community will challenge Carolina International on Tuesday. Corvian Community will be up against Carolina International's rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.93 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. College Prep & Leadership Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
