Basketball Recap: Harvard Cardinals vs. Blue Hill Bobcats
Harvard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 34th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Blue Hill Bobcats and fell 49-10. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Bobcats are ranked 131st).
Despite the defeat, Harvard saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tabi Forney posted five points in addition to seven blocks and five rebounds. That was a full 50% of Harvard's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.
Blue Hill had a senior duo take command as Ellie Mangers went 8 of 15 on her way to 18 points and Reece Mlady scored seven points along with eight boards and four steals. Mlady is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Anna Mead also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steals of the season.
Harvard's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Blue Hill, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harvard will welcome Deshler at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Blue Hill, they will be playing at home against Loomis on Friday.
