Football Recap: Lockhart Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Cedar Creek last Friday, Lockhart came back down to earth. The Lions were dealt a 53-22 defeat at the hands of the Hays Hawks on Friday. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 31-17 to the Hawks when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gabriel Peach was his usual excellent self, rushing for 125 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picking up 62 receiving yards and one touchdown for Hays. Those 125 rushing yards gave Peach a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tacoma Ames, who gained 212 total yards and a touchdown.

Lockhart's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hays, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coincidentally, Lockhart and Hays will both be playing Weiss the next time they take the field. The Hawks will host the Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 16th.
