Norwell fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against DeKalb on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Barons by a score of 7-6.

Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 9-4.
Brooklyn Baker was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 games. Mackenzie Nees was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Norwell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Norwell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger struggles in that department as they've averaged .339.
