Recap: Cordova Blue Devils vs. Corner Yellow Jackets
The Cordova Blue Devils put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Corner 38-9 at home. Considering Cordova has won three games by more than 24 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Cordova's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shelby Black led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ella Grace Madison, who scored 8 points.
Cordova pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Corner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Cordova will head out on the road to face off against Dora at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Dora is ranked 128th, while Cordova is ranked 104th). As for Corner, they will be playing at home against Hanceville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hanceville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
