Football Game Preview: Carson Colts vs. King/Drew Golden Eagles

After each having a week off, the Carson Colts and the King/Drew Golden Eagles will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Carson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully King/Drew likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Carson got the win against San Pedro by a conclusive 41-21. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won six games by 20 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Chris Fields iii, who rushed for 204 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 223 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. A healthy portion of Fields iii's aerial production (104 yards to be exact) went to Nathan Williams.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Carson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 366 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for King/Drew, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 26-8 victory over George Washington Prep on Thursday. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Carson's record is now 7-3. As for King/Drew, their record now sits at 8-2.
