Baseball Game Preview: Kimball Jaguars vs. West Wolfpack

For the second straight game, Kimball will face off against West. The Jaguars will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m.

Kimball is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let West get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Wednesday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Joshua Ruiz-Jara was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kimball got a massive performance out of Dawson Pelech, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and three RBI. Pelech is becoming a predictor of the Jaguars' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Carson Pollack, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Kimball always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .682. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

West is on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17. As for Kimball, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
