Softball Recap: Nashua South Takes a Loss

Nashua South extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 5-10-1 in the process. They fell 9-5 to the Timberlane Owls. The Purple Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Owls from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Nashua South saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cate Marvin, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Timberlane, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.

On Timberlane's side, Elizabeth Shanley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Madison McFadden was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Chaunda Poulin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Nashua South is set to face off against their familiar foe Merrimack at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Timberlane will take on rival Alvirne at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
