Football Game Preview: Northwestern Tigers vs. Peru Tigers

Northwestern will head out to take on Peru at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwestern has given up an average of 32.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northwestern fought the good fight in their overtime game against Northfield on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norsemen. On the bright side, the 55- point performance marked the Tigers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Northwestern might have lost, but man, Colin Cook was a machine: he threw for 283 yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. A healthy portion of Cook's aerial production (111 yards to be exact) went to Bradyn Wilson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, Peru ended up a good deal behind Manchester on Friday and lost 35-21.

Peru's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Northwestern, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-5.

Northwestern was able to grind out a solid win over Peru in their previous meeting back in September, winning 39-30. Will Northwestern repeat their success, or does Peru has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
