Baseball Game Preview: Elida Tigers vs. Floyd Broncos

Elida is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Floyd a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Elida Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Floyd Broncos at 3:00 p.m. Elida has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Elida played against Melrose on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Elida saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coda Cathey, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Cathey also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season.

Floyd is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Melrose on Monday, falling 20-7.

Adan Nieto and Logan Van Leuven did some serious damage despite the final result: Nieto scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Van Leuven scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Daxton Kuchta, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Floyd's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Elida, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
