Baseball Recap: Lake Central Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

While Lake Central's victory against Portage wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Lake Central had just enough and edged out Portage 5-3. The win was nothing new for Lake Central as they're now sitting on three straight.

Luke O'Keefe tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Keegan O'Bryan, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Victor Villegas also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.
