Softball Recap: Marksville Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Marksville challenged Buckeye on Tuesday. The Marksville Tigers fell just short of the Buckeye Panthers by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 7-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Miya Glorioso made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kylie Lewis also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Marksville's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Buckeye, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marksville will take on Beau Chene at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Buckeye, they will square off against Avoyelles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Avoyelles has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with 13 straight defeats, while Buckeye will come in with five straight wins.
