Baseball Recap: Florence Falls Short Against Ranked Oak Grove

Florence faced Oak Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles came up short against the Warriors, falling 11-5. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this matchup were averaging 3.38 runs allowed.

Florence saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryan Davis, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases. Morgan Weathersby was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Florence's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Oak Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Florence nor Oak Grove have any future games scheduled.
