Soccer Game Preview: Westosha Central vs. Waterford

The Westosha Central Falcons will head out to challenge the Waterford Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westosha Central will be strutting in after a win while Waterford will be coming in after a defeat.

Westosha Central took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Burlington 4-0. The high-scoring effort was just what Westosha Central needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Waterford unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Union Grove by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Waterford's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

The victory snapped Westosha Central's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3-1 record. As for Waterford, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-5.

Westosha Central took their win against Waterford in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 5-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
