Basketball Recap: Randle Piles Up the Points Against Dekaney

There's no place like home for Randle, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Dekaney Wildcats 45-12 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.

Leading Randle to victory were Kurynn McNeill and Sydney Gilmore. McNeill posted 16 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Gilmore put up 12 points and six steals. McNeill is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Sanaya Smith-Brown was another key player, putting up five points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Randle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February.

With the win, Randle broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9. As for Dekaney, their loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Randle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-44 victory against Victoria East on the 10th. As for Dekaney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-31 win against Aldine on the 10th.
