Football Recap: Meadowdale Starts Season with Win Against Kamiak + How To Watch

Meadowdale had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Kamiak Knights 22-19. For the Mavericks, this counts as revenge for the 28-6 win the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Kamiak saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayden Harris rushed for 88 yards and one TD, and also picked up 67 receiving yards. Harris was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 55 yards. Lucas Burd also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Looking ahead, Meadowdale will challenge Shorewood at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Mavericks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Kamiak, they will square off against Juanita at 7:00 p.m. on the 13th.
