Softball Game Preview: Franklin Road Academy Panthers vs. The Webb School Feet

Franklin Road Academy has gone 8-1 against The Webb School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Franklin Road Academy Panthers will welcome The Webb School Feet at 4:30 p.m. The Webb School took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Franklin Road Academy, who comes in off a win.

Franklin Road Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet 15-0. The Panthers have beaten the Royals the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Royals has come to flipping the script.

Millie Pardue was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple.

In other batting news, Lillian Van Allen and Breyannah Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Van Allen scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Williams scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Williams a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Ella Gadsey, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Franklin Road Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet only posted an OBP of .000.

Meanwhile, The Webb School fell victim to Grace Christian Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Lions. The Feet have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Franklin Road Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for The Webb School, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Franklin Road Academy took their win against The Webb School in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-4. Will Franklin Road Academy repeat their success, or does The Webb School have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
