Softball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Parke Heritage

15 must be Parke Heritage's lucky number: they beat Attica with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Wolves beat the Red Ramblers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-2. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.

Aerianna Desmith was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addie Frazier, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Birkley Schelsky also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Parke Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Parke Heritage and bumps their season record up to 5-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Attica, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Parke Heritage will challenge Terre Haute North Vigo at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Attica, they will face off against Faith Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
