Recap: Rising Sun Tigers vs. Patterson Mill
After flying high against the Harford Tech Cobras last Thursday, the Rising Sun Tigers came back down to earth. Rising Sun took a 56-38 bruising from Patterson Mill on Thursday. Rising Sun was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Patterson Mill apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Patterson Mill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rylie Madsen out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. Madsen has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. Kiley Wilhelm was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Rising Sun's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Patterson Mill, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Rising Sun will look to defend their home court on Monday against Havre de Grace at 7:00 p.m. Havre de Grace and Rising Sun are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Patterson Mill, they will square off against River Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (River Hill is ranked 50th, while Patterson Mill is ranked 52nd).
