Basketball Recap: South Stokes Takes a Loss

South Stokes was the 52-45 winner over Mount Airy when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The South Stokes Sauras fell 55-47 to the Mount Airy Granite Bears on Tuesday. The Sauras have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mount Airy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalaya Revels out in front who went 8 of 15 en route to 20 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Revels a new career-high in shooting accuracy (53%). Da'Nya Mills was another key player, putting up five points in addition to 15 rebounds and three steals.

South Stokes' defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Mount Airy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-10.

South Stokes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-48 loss against East Surry on the 29th. As for Mount Airy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-36 defeat against North Surry on the 29th.
