Baseball Recap: Raytown South Beats Cardinal Ritter College Prep for Their Third Straight Victory

Raytown South waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Cardinal Ritter College Prep Lions by a score of 5-2. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by exactly three runs.

Raytown South got a great performance from Joe Mount as he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Those 11 strikeouts gave Mount a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Marcellus Goudeau, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Raytown South is undefeated when Goudeau posts two or more runs, but 3-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was JuKobe Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Raytown South's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Cardinal Ritter College Prep, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.

Coming up, Raytown South will square off against Grandview at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cardinal Ritter College Prep, they will head out to challenge Van Horn at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
