Soccer Game Preview: Granada vs. Pittsburg

The Granada Matadors will take on the Pittsburg Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Granada is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand California a 1-0 shutout. The Matadors haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Pittsburg came tearing into Friday's contest with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 2-0. The Pirates' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Granada's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Pittsburg, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.

Granada beat Pittsburg by a goal when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 4-3. Will Granada repeat their success, or does Pittsburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
