Baseball Game Preview: Kennebunk Rams vs. Biddeford Tigers

The Kennebunk Rams will square off against the Biddeford Tigers on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Kennebunk is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past Falmouth 1-0. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by just one run.

The result came thanks to Isaac Jensen's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kennebunk's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brady Stone, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Biddeford made sure to put some runs up on the board against Noble last Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Knights. Considering the Tigers have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Travis Edgerton was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Soucy, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Biddeford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Noble only posted an OBP of .353.

The win made it two in a row for Kennebunk and bumps their season record up to 7-12. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Biddeford, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 12-4 record this season.

Kennebunk might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Biddeford when the teams last played back in May. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
