Recap: Saguaro Sabercats vs. Perry Pumas
With a playoff game on the line, the Saguaro Sabercats rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Pumas by a score of 42-32. The win was nothing new for Saguaro as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jaedon Matthews had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Bray, who rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown.
Saguaro has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 7-5 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points per game. As for Perry, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.
Saguaro will square off against Salpointe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Salpointe Catholic is ranked 13th, while Saguaro is ranked seventh). Perry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
