The Snake River Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Teton Timberwolves at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Snake River knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Teton likes a good challenge.
Snake River came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 30-11 to Preston. The Panthers have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Harlee Lane was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Tessa Mitchell also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Teton got themselves on the board against Bear Lake on Friday, but Bear Lake never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Timberwolves have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jimmi Williamson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kapri Eiden was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Kara Webster was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Teton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in 12 consecutive contests.
Snake River's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Teton, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Snake River might still be hurting after the 25-4 defeat they got from Teton in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
