Recap: Scituate Spartans vs. Paul Cuffee
This season hasn't been kind to the Scituate Spartans, who are still winless after their sixth game. They took a 64-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paul Cuffee on Thursday. Scituate lost against Paul Cuffee in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 75-34 score last time.
Scituate's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cam Healey, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ryan Larsh, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Scituate bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Paul Cuffee, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scituate will take on Woonsocket at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Woonsocket is ranked 24th, while Scituate is ranked 50th). Paul Cuffee will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Achievement First Providence at 6:30 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
