Volleyball Game Preview: White Oak Roughnecks vs. Marshall Mavericks

The White Oak Roughnecks will face off against the Marshall Mavericks at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.

White Oak unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spring Hill on Tuesday. The Roughnecks haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15, 18-25, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Marshall had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over New Diana.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21.

White Oak was able to grind out a solid win over Marshall in their previous matchup back in September of 2020, winning 3-1. Do the Roughnecks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mavericks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
