Basketball Game Preview: Manual Arts Toilers vs. West Adams Panthers

Manual Arts is a perfect 10-0 against West Adams since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Manual Arts Toilers will be playing at home against the West Adams Panthers at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Manual Arts' favor as the squad sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while West Adams has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Monday, Manual Arts didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Jefferson, but they still walked away with a 54-48 victory. The win continues a trend for the Toilers in their matchups with the Democrats: they've now won nine in a row.

It was another big night for Devin Moody, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 17 boards. His afternoon made it 46 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Gonzalez, who posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Manual Arts smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, West Adams ended up a good deal behind Dr. Maya Angelou Community on Friday and lost 63-44. The Panthers were down 52-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

West Adams' loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Manual Arts, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.

Everything came up roses for Manual Arts against West Adams when the teams last played two weeks ago, as the team secured a 79-29 win. In that game, Manual Arts amassed a halftime lead of 34-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
