Volleyball Recap: Kolbe-Cathedral Comes Up Short

Kolbe-Cathedral lost against Pomperaug back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars came up short against the Panthers, falling 3-0. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kolbe-Cathedral was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Kolbe-Cathedral still got an impressive performance from Angel Gomez, who had 13 digs and two aces. Gomez has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 22 times he's played.

Kolbe-Cathedral now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Pomperaug, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Kolbe-Cathedral didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Newtown on the 21st. As for Pomperaug, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Bunnell on the 21st.
