Softball Recap: Buckeye Bucks vs. Norton Panthers
Buckeye had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Norton Panthers onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for Buckeye who now have eight in a row.
Not much got past Lilly Young, who gave up just one hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Norton off the board. Young has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Buckeye saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kwynn Czerwony, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Buckeye is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Norton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
