Football Game Preview: Wallkill Panthers vs. Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors

Wallkill is 0-3 against Our Lady of Lourdes since September of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wallkill is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Goshen Central on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Panthers had to suffer through a 43-14 loss at the hands of the Gladiators. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.

Kent Glasgow put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 55 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 40 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, Wallkill's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 3.5 sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Dj Moore, Owen Miller, and Julian Aviles, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece.

Meanwhile, Our Lady of Lourdes took a blow against Minisink Valley on Friday, falling 42-12. While losing is never fun, Our Lady of Lourdes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Minisink Valley is ranked 70th).

Wallkill now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Our Lady of Lourdes, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
