Basketball Recap: Northridge Takes a Loss

Northridge won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They came up short against the Clearfield Falcons, falling 61-37. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-30 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Northridge still got an impressive performance from Karlee Mayfield, who went 5 for 10 en route to 14 points. Lauren Terrando also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Isabelle Wyaskett continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Clearfield, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Wyaskett has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last nine times she's played. Xiyah Yarbrough was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Northridge's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Clearfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Northridge has already played their next contest, a 41-40 defeat against Roy on the 29th. As for Clearfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-32 victory against Bonneville on the 29th.
