Softball Recap: Downey Wins Going Away Against Paramount

Downey's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Paramount Pirates with a sharp 17-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Sophia Hernandez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Delilah Navarro was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Hernandez wasn't the only one making solid contact: Downey kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Downey's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Paramount, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Downey has already played their next game, an 18-3 win against North on the 5th. As for Paramount, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-2 defeat against El Rancho on the 2nd.
