Burton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the New Designs Watts Knights 80-39. One positive for the Scorpions , at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

New Designs Watts was led to victory by Martavius Watson and Magic Haynes. Watson went 14 for 21 en route to 31 points and seven steals, while Haynes almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. Watson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. James Garcia was another key player, putting up seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Burton's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for New Designs Watts, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Animo Pat Brown the next time they take the court. New Designs Watts will head out to face Animo Pat Brown at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Burton will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
