Baseball Recap: Edon Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Edon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Pettisville Blackbirds by a score of 4-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 4-3 win last Thursday.

Kyler Sapp made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Edon is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise. Sapp was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Christian Owens, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Edon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Edon's record now sits at 12-8. As for Pettisville, they dropped their record down to 8-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Edon nor the Blackbirds have any future games scheduled.
