Softball Recap: L'Anse Creuse North Takes a Loss

L'Anse Creuse North was the 23-12 winner over Utica Eisenhower when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7 on Wednesday. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lily Smeltzer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Hailee Lane, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

L'Anse Creuse North's defeat dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Utica Eisenhower, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. L'Anse Creuse North will face off against Dakota at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Utica Eisenhower, they will challenge Utica at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Chieftains will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
