The West Plains Wolves will face off against the Lampasas Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in West Plains' favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
West Plains is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Irvin get on the board and left with an 85-0 victory. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Rockets are ranked 930th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

SLADE RUSSELL was his usual excellent self, rushing for 118 yards and four TDs on only eight carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in November of 2024. PAXTON CHANDLER also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Plains was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 323 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 270 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for West Plains, adding 17 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of CHANDLER, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Lampasas not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 5th (when they won 43-12). They took their game with ease, bagging a 45-14 win over Lake View. With the Badgers ahead 35-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Lampasas' win came from a few key players West Plains will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Wesley Stephens, who rushed for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Another player making a difference was Bryson Roberts, who threw for 179 yards and three TDs on only 12 passes.
Lampasas' defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Campbell Roberts, Kingston Middleton, and Carter Toups, who each picked up one sack apiece. Jonathan Bowling was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble, making ten total tackles, and defending one pass in addition to snagging two interceptions.
The victory made it two in a row for Lampasas and bumps their season record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. As for West Plains, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. West Plains has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 286.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lampasas struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 243.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for West Plains against Lampasas when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 63-35 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Badgers' Reed Jerome, who threw for 396 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.1% of his passes, and also rushed for 112 yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Wolves to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
