Football Recap: Lake Stevens Piles Up the Points Against Cascade

Lake Stevens strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Cascade Bruins, posting a 76-7 victory. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked second, while the Bruins are ranked 195th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jayvian Ferrell went supernova, rushing for 181 yards and three scores. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Moser, who threw for 115 yards and three touchdowns.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Lake Stevens, adding 16 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kekoa Okiyama, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lake Stevens' defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Keegan Brown and Ted Kuhrau, who racked up four sacks between them. Karter Bringedahl got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Lake Stevens' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Cascade, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Lake Stevens wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 56-0 victory against Mariner on the 26th. As for Cascade, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 40-30 defeat against Jackson on the 26th.
